- Move your shield and aim your turret: left and right arrow keys
- Fire missiles: Space bar
- Choose the speed level and number of players: F11 (the consoleās Select switch)
- Start a new game: F12 (the consoleās Reset switch)
- Switch between paddle and joystick mode: Alt + L
Gameplay
The Cobra hangs over the camp and spits venom and laser beams at recruits running between buildings. Your shield blocks its attacks but lets your own missiles through, and only hits on the Cobraās eyes count. Eight eye hits destroy it, and the next Cobra is faster and more aggressive. The game ends when all your recruits have been caught. In this version the story says the Cobra Combat Machine was built by Baron Ironblood, the villain of the Action Force comics.
There are one-player, two-player team and two-player head-to-head games, in which one player steers the Cobra with a joystick. Because the emulator uses either paddles or joysticks but not both at once, the one-player game is the safest choice here. For full scoring, variations and tips, see the G.I. Joe: Cobra Strike page.
