Assault is a fixed shooter video game developed and published by Bomb in 1983 for the Atari 2600. In the game, the player is tasked with defending their weapon from an alien mother ship and its smaller vessels. The alien mother ship continually deploys three smaller ships that, along with the mother ship, shoot at the player’s weapon. The player’s objective is to eliminate the enemy ships while preventing their weapon from being destroyed by incoming fire.
The game is designed for single-player gameplay and uses a joystick controller for operation. Players must carefully navigate and aim their weapon to fend off the attacking alien ships while ensuring that their weapon remains intact. The challenge lies in the player’s ability to strategically eliminate the opposition and protect their weapon from damage.
