Oink! is an Atari 2600 video game based on the classic Three Little Pigs fairy tale. In the game, the player controls each of the three pigs as they try to protect their houses from the Bigelow B. Wolf (B. B. Wolf). The wolf attempts to blow away pieces of the three-layer-deep walls of the pigs’ houses, and the player must act quickly to repair the walls.
To do this, the player-controlled pig collects patches from the top of the screen and drops them into the holes created by the wolf’s breath at the bottom of the wall. If the pig gets hit by the wolf’s breath, it will be stunned and start to fall out of the house. The player loses a life if the hole in the wall is large enough for the pig to fall completely through.
The game’s levels are based on the materials used by the pigs to build their houses in the original story. The first house has a yellow wall, representing the straw house; the second house features a brown wall for the stick house; and the final house has a red wall, signifying the brick house. As players progress through the levels, they must repair the walls and protect the pigs from the relentless attacks of the Bigelow B. Wolf.
