Lost Luggage, developed and published by Games by Apollo in 1982, is an action-packed Atari 2600 game where the player steps into the shoes of a busy skycap porter. The objective? Collect all the tumbling suitcases from a capricious baggage carousel before they crash onto the ground. At the beginning, the player has three suitcases that act as lives – every suitcase that plummets costs one life. If all suitcases are lost, it’s game over.
The game offers two difficulty levels. Depending on the chosen level, you can control either one or two skycap porters simultaneously. For those seeking a bit of rivalry, there’s a two-player mode where the second player determines the direction of the cascading luggage. Another intriguing mode introduces “terrorist suitcases”. In this mode, black suitcases sporadically appear among the regular baggage. These black suitcases escalate the stakes – if they hit the ground, it results in an immediate game over, regardless of the number of suitcases you’ve successfully collected.
