About Atari 2600 Star Wars: Jedi Arena

Star Wars: Jedi Arena is a lightsaber battle video game developed for the Atari 2600, following the success of their first Star Wars game, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. In this game, two Jedi Knights, one blue and one red, engage in lightsaber training, viewed from a top-down perspective. Player one controls the blue Jedi, while the red Jedi is either controlled by a human opponent or the computer.

Players use the paddle controller to maneuver their lightsabers, defending themselves from laser blasts emitted by the Seeker ball. The objective is to direct the Seeker’s laser blasts towards the opponent’s shield and eventually hit the opponent directly by aiming the lightsaber in the desired direction. The Seeker occasionally goes wild, firing laser blasts randomly.

The game features four difficulty levels, which affect the Seeker’s speed. On the highest level, the Seeker becomes invisible. The game concludes when one player receives three direct hits, with the winner being crowned a Jedi Master.
