Venture is an action game with a fantasy theme. Each level features a playable overhead map view. When entering a room depicted on the map, the game zooms in so that the room occupies the entire screen. Players control a round smiley-face character named Winky, whose objective is to gather treasures from each room. Winky can fire arrows at adversaries, which, when hit, transform into slowly disintegrating remains. However, these remains are still hazardous upon contact.
