Super Football

Super Football is an American football game that Atari Corporation released for the 2600 in 1988, long after the console’s peak years. It was programmed by Doug Neubauer, who also made Solaris and Radar Lock for the system. The field is shown from above and behind the offense, and you have nine formations and four patterns to call, which makes it one of the more detailed football games on the console. You can play it here in your browser, alone against the computer or with a friend.

Solaris

Solaris is a 1986 space combat and exploration game by Doug Neubauer, the creator of Star Raiders, published by Atari Corporation for the Atari 2600. You pilot a StarCruiser across a galaxy map, warp into battles with the Zylons, defend friendly planets, rescue stranded cadets and search for the lost planet Solaris. It is often praised as one of the best-looking games on the system. You can play it here in your browser.

Radar Lock

Radar Lock is a 1989 air combat game for the Atari 2600, programmed by Doug Neubauer and published by Atari Corp. late in the console’s life. You fly a delta-wing fighter through five missions of dogfights against enemy jets and bombers, and finish each one with a tricky mid-air refuelling. Built on the engine of Neubauer’s Solaris, it is one of the most technically ambitious games on the system. You can play it here in your browser.
