Joe Decuir worked on the Atari 2600 hardware itself, and he also programmed two of the nine cartridges available when the console launched in 1977. Combat, based on Atari’s arcade game Tank, came in the box with most consoles; Decuir wrote it on the final hardware, and Larry Wagner added the biplane and jet games. Video Olympics packs 50 Pong-style games and variations, from hockey to volleyball, played with paddles.
