John Russell programmed Atari 2600 games in 1983. For 20th Century Fox’s video game division he wrote Alligator People, based on the 1959 horror film. It never went on sale because play-testers found it too slow and too easy, but a playable prototype labelled “Gator” survived. At Atari he programmed the Gonzoids game, one of three short games on the Muppets cartridge Pigs in Space.
