Epyx was a computer game publisher behind a series of multi-event sports games that began with Summer Games on the Commodore 64 in 1984. The idea grew out of Sweat! The Decathlon Game, a Starpath Supercharger project: Epyx bought Starpath, and its programmer Scott Nelson moved to Epyx. Winter Games followed in 1985, then California Games. None of them had an Olympic licence, but they borrowed the Olympic mood, and all three were converted to the Atari 2600 late in the console’s life.

Winter Games: seven snow and ice events, from the slalom to the luge, without the computer versions’ figure skating.
California Games: the third game in the series.
