Gameplay
Your ship sits at the top of the screen, and rows of sea monsters swim back and forth underneath it. The idea is close to Atari’s Air-Sea Battle turned upside down: instead of firing upwards at targets in the sky, you drop charges down into the water. The deeper a monster swims, the more points it is worth. The monsters also fire back, so you cannot simply park in one spot. The game ends when all your ships have been sunk. One or two people can play, and the variations change the speed and difficulty.
Tips
- Go for the deep rows. They score the most, but your charge takes longer to get there, so drop it ahead of the monster’s path.
- Keep moving. Since the monsters shoot upwards, drifting sideways between drops makes you harder to hit.
Other versions on this site
The same game is also available as Sea Monster (NTSC), the version for American-standard televisions, and as Sea Monster – O Monstro Marinho, the cartridge sold in Brazil by CCE. In Europe it also appeared under the Goliath label. If the game runs too fast or the colours look wrong in one version, try the other.
