Dragster, launched in 1980 for the Atari Video Computer System, is among the earliest video games created by Activision. The objective is to be the first car to race across the screen in a two-player game or to complete the race in the shortest time possible in a single-player game. The joystick serves as both the gas pedal and clutch, allowing you to shift gears from first to fourth. However, be cautious not to shift too early, as downshifting is not possible.
Additionally, avoid over-revving your engine, or you will blow it up and be eliminated from the race. The game includes two variations: in the simpler version, you only need to drive straight to reach the goal, while in the advanced mode, you also have steering capabilities and must maintain a straight path between the bleachers and the road divider.
