How to play Pharaoh’s Curse online
- Move: arrow keys
- Joystick button: Space bar
- Start a new game: F12 (Reset)
- Choose a game variation: F11 (Select)
- Save and load your progress: Ctrl + 0–9 saves, Alt + 0–9 loads
Gameplay
Very little documentation survives for this cartridge. AtariAge has a scan of the cartridge but no manual or box. The best description comes from the British magazine TV Gamer, which reviewed it in its winter 1983 games guide. It compared the game to Dig Dug: you tunnel through sand while staying away from snakes and other creatures. The reviewers liked the graphics and sound but felt it had less strategy than Dig Dug. The same guide listed it as a “skill” game with two variations.
TechnoVision’s other releases were Nuts, a Space Invaders-style game with a squirrel, and Save Our Ship, where you fight pirates boarding a clipper. Both are also on this site.
