Sir Lancelot, released in 1983 for the Atari 2600, involves rescuing a damsel in distress held captive in a castle by a fire-breathing dragon. As Sir Lancelot, players ride the winged horse Pegasus to save her. This action game features two screens per level.
In the first screen, players are outside the castle, which is guarded by various flying creatures. Players must fly around the screen and eliminate all creatures using their lance, while avoiding getting hit and losing a life.
The second screen takes place inside the castle, where a large lava pit and a flying dragon await. To defeat the dragon, players must strike its stomach with the lance. Getting hit by the dragon’s fireballs temporarily stuns the player, disabling their ability to fly. Falling into the lava results in losing a life.
Upon defeating the dragon, the game progresses to a higher difficulty level, and ends when all lives are lost.
