Skeet Shoot is an Atari 2600 game where the player takes on the role of a skeet shooter aiming to hit clay pigeons. Pressing the controller button launches a clay pigeon, and pressing it again fires a shot. The joystick is used to adjust the gun’s angle. If the bullet successfully hits the clay pigeon, the player earns a point. The game’s difficulty can be adjusted, affecting the speed of the pigeons.
There are two two-player gameplay variations available, which can be activated by changing the Atari 2600’s difficulty switches. One version has players taking turns shooting clay pigeons, while the other has one player shooting and the other controlling the angle of the clay pigeons. Other customizable variables include the shooter’s position and the direction from which the clay pigeons enter the screen.
