Sneak ‘n Peek is the Atari 2600 adaptation of hide and seek. It can be played by two players or a single player against the computer. One player closes their eyes while the other hides. Once hidden, the first player tries to find the second player in the shortest time possible. Afterward, the roles are reversed.
The game is set in an old house with three rooms and a front yard for hiding. Each of the four locations has five hiding spots. Players can choose between fixed or variable hiding locations. In the fixed game, hiding spots remain constant, while in the variable game, hiding spots change each time a room is entered. Two difficulty levels are available, with the harder setting featuring narrower entrances to hiding places, making them more challenging to find.
