In 1958, a horror science fiction film called “Space Master X-7” was released in the United States. Around twenty-five years later, in 1983, Fox’s video game publishing division announced a Space Master X-7 video game for the Atari 2600. The game was not based on the original film, as the programmer behind the project, David Lubar, had no prior knowledge of the 1958 movie. Instead, Fox decided to use the movie’s title to promote the game that Lubar had created independently.
