Epyx was a computer game publisher best known for its “Games” series of multi-event sports titles, which began with Summer Games on the Commodore 64 in 1984. Two of them reached the Atari 2600 late in the console’s life. Summer Games (1987) offers seven events, from the hurdles to the pommel horse, for up to eight players. California Games, first released on home computers in 1987, swaps the stadium for Californian sports such as surfing, skateboarding, BMX and footbag.
