Publisher: Avalon Hill

Avalon Hill is best known for its strategy board games. In May 1983 it announced its first Atari 2600 cartridges, and its video game arm, The Avalon Hill Video Game Company, released five in all: Death Trap, London Blitz, Out of Control, Wall Ball and Shuttle Orbiter. Several of them ask for planning rather than quick shooting, which fits the company’s board game background. AtariAge rates Wall Ball and Shuttle Orbiter as very rare.

London Blitz: defuse unexploded bombs in wartime London, each one a small logic puzzle against the timer.
Shuttle Orbiter: finish building a space station before the shuttle Challenger runs out of fuel.
Wall Ball: brick-breaking in 3-D, played like squash.
Out of Control: race a drifting spaceship around a course and dock it, with nothing to shoot.

All five are listed below, ready to play in your browser.
