Boulder Dash is a 2D maze-puzzle game launched in 1984 by First Star Software for Atari 8-bit computers. The game is set in a series of caves, each designed as a rectangular grid of blocks. Players control the character, Rockford, using a joystick or cursor keys. In each cave, Rockford must collect the required number of diamonds while avoiding hazards like falling rocks. Upon collecting enough diamonds, an exit door appears, and passing through it completes the cave.
