Mission Survive

Mission Survive is a one-player action game released in 1983 by Video Gems, a small label whose cartridges were sold in Europe. It was only made for PAL televisions and never came out in North America. Very little is documented about it: AtariAge has no manual for it, and no programmer is credited in the sources we checked. You can play it here in your browser.

How to play Mission Survive online

The cartridge label calls for a joystick. Without the manual, the exact controls are not documented, so try these keys:

  • Move: arrow keys
  • Fire: Space bar
  • Start a new game: F12 (the console’s Reset switch)

What the game looks like

Screenshots show a wheeled vehicle driving along a brown, uneven ground under a dark blue sky, while flying saucers overhead seem to drop bombs on it. In one screenshot a small missile can be seen in front of the vehicle. The set-up will remind many players of Moon Patrol.

Mission Survive was written for the European PAL TV standard. A fan conversion for American NTSC televisions was later made by Thomas Jentzsch.
