VentureVision was a small company from Grand Prairie, Texas, co-founded by Dan Oliver, who had written Space Cavern for Games by Apollo. Its first game, Rescue Terra I (1982), is a shooter whose two-player mode has both players sharing one ship. When VentureVision folded, Oliver still had a finished game called Innerspace. Imagic bought it and released it in 1983 as Laser Gates, a tunnel shooter set inside a failing computer.
