About Atari 2600 Apples and Dolles

“Apples and Dolls,” a bootleg version of “I Want My Mommy” for the Atari 2600, was released in North America by Zimag in 1983. In this game, players navigate Teddy through a six-story building to reach the top. The objective differs between the two stages: in the first, Teddy must collect an Apple at the top, and in the second, he aims to reach his mommy. After completing both stages, the game loops back to the first stage with increased difficulty.

Teddy faces monsters patrolling each floor. Unable to jump, he relies on teleportation beams to move upward. Players can outsmart monsters by feigning an ascent through a teleporter, then quickly descending. The game features the tune “Little Brown Jug” by Joseph Winner, played at the start and upon completion.
