About Atari 2600 Shootin’ Gallery

Shootin’ Gallery is a target shooting game reminiscent of Sega’s Carnival. Players control a gun at the bottom of the screen, while various targets move left and right above. With a limited amount of ammo, the objective is to earn as many points as possible by shooting targets, including trains, snails, frogs, kangaroos, monkeys, and more. Targets further away or harder to hit award more points.

A cuckoo clock at the top of the screen counts down, and when time runs out, a cuckoo consumes some of the player’s remaining ammo. To prevent this, players can shoot the clock to reset the timer. For every 20,000 points, bonus ammo is awarded. The game concludes when all ammo is depleted, at which point the final score is calculated.
