Developer: Starpath

Starpath, which started out in 1981 as Arcadia Corporation, is credited here as the developer of its own Supercharger tapes. The Supercharger was a cartridge-shaped add-on that gave the Atari 2600 6 KB of extra memory and loaded games from an ordinary cassette player, and only Starpath made software for it. Its small in-house team, among them Dennis Caswell, Stephen Landrum, Scott Nelson, Steve Hales, Brian McGhie and Kevin Norman, used that memory for bigger worlds, sharper graphics and games that loaded in several parts.
The ten games filed under Starpath range from shooters to role-playing and puzzle games:

Dragonstomper: a turn-based fantasy role-playing game in three parts, ending in a dragon’s cave.
Escape from the Mindmaster: six 3-D mazes and a series of mind tests set by an alien captor.
Suicide Mission: a miniature submarine blasts viruses in a patient’s bloodstream.
Rabbit Transit: a rabbit crosses a meadow, then hops across colour-changing ledges.
Killer Satellites: a shooter with radar, a fuel gauge and a gun that overheats.
Survival Island: a three-part survival adventure from raft to temple, sold only by mail order.

Starpath was taken over by Epyx in 1984. No tape deck is needed here: pick a game below and play it in your browser.
