Cosmic Corridor

Cosmic Corridor is the North American edition of Space Tunnel, a shooter by the Taiwanese company Bit Corporation. Zimag sold it in 1983 under this new name and with its own box and manual. You fly a laser cannon through a corridor with jagged walls while aliens attack and fire at you. You can play it here in your browser. Full details on the game are on the Space Tunnel page.

What the Zimag manual says

Zimag’s manual sets the story in a faraway galaxy. Your shots go in the last direction you pushed the joystick, so you don’t have to keep holding it. You lose a cannon if you hit the wall, get shot or crash into an alien. The four one-player games go from easiest to hardest. The manual’s own advice: keep the fire button down, aim upward when the screen is empty, and when bullets close in, switch between moving up and down, because they sometimes curve past.
