Weltraumtunnel (Space Tunnel)

Weltraumtunnel is German for "space tunnel", and this page runs Space Tunnel, the shooter made by the Taiwanese company Bit Corporation. The German title belongs to the version sold in Germany, where the mail-order company Quelle offered many 2600 games under German names. You fly a small ship through a tunnel with jagged walls while UFOs fire missiles that bounce off those walls. You can play it here in your browser.

How to play Weltraumtunnel online

  • Move your ship: arrow keys (left, right, up and down)
  • Fire: Space bar
  • Choose game 1 to 4: F11 (the console’s Select switch)
  • Start a new game: F12 (the console’s Reset switch)
  • Change the size of your ship: F4 (the Player 1 difficulty switch)

The game itself is the same as Space Tunnel: dodge the ricocheting shots, destroy the UFO waves for points and earn extra ships as your score grows. The four games get faster from game 1 to game 4. The Space Tunnel page explains the rules, the scoring table and some tips.

A note on the other names

Space Tunnel was sold under many labels, including Cosmic Corridor in North America and Le Tunnel de L’Espace with a French title. Earlier versions of this page also listed Innerspace, Laser Gate, Laser Gates and Laser Volley. Those are names of a different game, Imagic’s Laser Gates, which is also a shooter set in a narrow corridor. If you were looking for that one, it has its own page.
