Sea Monster (NTSC)

Sea Monster (NTSC) is the 60 Hz version of Sea Monster, a simple shooting game from the Taiwanese company Bit Corporation. You steer a ship along the surface and drop depth charges on the creatures swimming below, while they fire back at you. The game itself is the same as on the main page; only the video format differs. NTSC or PAL?

Atari 2600 cartridges were made for two TV standards. NTSC, used in North America and Japan, runs at 60 frames per second. PAL, used in most of Europe, runs at 50. The main Sea Monster page runs the European PAL cartridge sold under the Puzzy label, while this page runs an NTSC copy. The NTSC version usually plays a little faster and shows slightly different colours. If one version feels too quick or looks odd, try the other.

For the full rules, scoring and tips, see the main Sea Monster page. There is also a Brazilian release by CCE, Sea Monster – O Monstro Marinho.
