Release date: 1990

By 1990 the Atari 2600 was close to the end of its life, and Europe mattered more to it than America. Fatal Run, at 32 KB the largest cartridge Atari ever released for the console, came out only in Europe that year; this site has the unreleased American NTSC prototype. Klax, often called the last 2600 game Atari developed and released, also appeared only in PAL form, and you can compare it with the NTSC build that was never sold. HES in Australia released the PAL-only My Golf.
In North America the last licensed games were Ikari Warriors, MotoRodeo, Sentinel and Xenophobe, although their date is disputed: Wikipedia says July 1990, while Atari Archive places them in March 1991. Sentinel is the only 2600 light gun game that was ever released. Shooting Arcade, also on this page, was made for the same light gun but never came out. Dynacom’s MegaBoy quiz cartridge from Brazil is listed here too.
